Proviron Advanced Photobioreactor Technology
ProviAPT is an aerated vertical flat panel photobioreactor. This typology has proven to be the most efficient and is likely the only option to reach the promising high yields up to 100T/ha.
Low Investment: less than 200k€/ha
- Low material requirement: only 2.5 kg plastic film per m².
- Integrated connections between the panels reduce installation cost enormously: each integrated one-piece bag covers 20 m² reactor
- Without rigid structure: setup is limited to rolling out the reactors.
- Future cost prediction even lower: 100k€/ha
Low energy consumption: less than 20kW/ha
- Excellent gas transfer due to special designed pattern, air distributer and the use of very thin panels (less than 1cm).
- Easy heat management due to the huge water volume in the surrounding bag (500L/m²).
- Future reduction to 10kW/ha is possible by adapting aeration to the light.
Low harvesting cost
- Due to the thin panels the optimal cell density is very high: typical 5 gr/L.
- This is a factor 10 better than normal thus reducing the harvesting cost with the same factor.
Extremely scalable
The ProviAPT is produced on an automatic line. The existing prototype line can produce 6ha of reactors/yr and can be easily be expanded to 12ha/yr. Each future industrial automatic line should produce 40ha/yr.
